As you have tried a number of supposed fire-proof enamels previously on dynamometer test, for a number of chassis, I am sending you herewith a tin of Thomas Howse Ltd's "Thermax" Fireproof Silencer Black Japan.

It can be obtained in aluminium colour or grey. They state that it will stand flame for a considerable time without effect.

I do not consider this type of thing is the right nature for the interior of gear box or engine case, as it has not sufficient body, but it might be of some use for hot pipe work.

They state the material is oil-proof, water-proof, and petrol-proof.

We would like you to leave us just a little and return the tin to us so that we can test these claims in our usual fashion.
