X.2656 - STARTER MOTOR BRUSHES.

Referring to your letter Ey1/P22.9.20 to the Morgan Crucible Co., we think it should be ascertained from this Co., and probably this will be done during the visit of their representative, how it was that they were able to supply us with 5 dozen C.M.3 brushes with the size of flexible which we had on the C.M., and that these brushes have been satisfactory experimentally and have been standard-ised. Could they not supply us with similar brushes to these for production? We have handed to you a sample set of four brushes, which you can send or show to this Co. if necessary. We are not in favour of prolonging the use of the C.M. brushes any longer than is necessary as we know that it is Mr. Royce's wish that the C.M.3 quality brush shall be brought on at the earliest possible moment.

One dozen were brought by Mr. Sparkes himself on 24.9.19.

Four dozen were received by us on 16.2.20 to our order of Ck{Mr Clark}1/T14.1.20.
