| SECRET. To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re American left-handed "SS{S. Smith}" chassis. Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} You will remember that you told us that the first chassis would be ready about the middle of May, i.e. about 9 weeks from now. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} is all ready with the design of the body but we cannot proceed without the sub-frame. It is essential that one of these should be available for the first coachbuilders within the next few days if we are to avoid delay by the body not being ready when the chassis is. I understand the sub-frame is the same as for the right-hand "SS{S. Smith}" except for one small detail particulars of which WW. promised to post last night, and I should be glad if you would let me know when at Derby to-morrow how soon the first sub-frame can be delivered.
