The top leaf of the front spring broke on our Demonstration Class Car, No.7-LW after running 35,000 miles. The breakage took place about 4" from the front eye, and I have sent on to you the front piece for your inspection and examination. I am anxious to bring this to your attention as I understand that this position is the usual place where front springs break, on such failures as we actually have. I should also like to draw you attention to the wear which has taken place at the side of the dead eye. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
