Sidgreaves - MD}1/E.15.10.35. this matter has been referred to on a number of occasions, the actual facts of the case are that it was agreed we should build 20 chassis, a certain number of these were for the Show and Demonstration purposes, the balance at that time, which was 12, were advance chassis to enable the Works to appreciate the problems which were likely to arise when the Phantom 111. came fully into production. You will find this matter referred to in the Conference held on May 23rd - ref. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}1/KW.24.5.35., on page 2 in the second paragraph Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} suggested that 70% of the parts of the chassis could be proceeded with in respect of ordering material forthwith for an advance batch of 20 chassis. Further we wrote explaining the position in BY.37/G.2.8.35. to Sales (Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}) when we asked Sales for information as to the types of steering which would be required on the 12 chassis in question. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} [Signature] | ||
