3 New Experimental SpectreCodename for Phantom III Chassis.

We send you herewith a specification of the 3 new cars you are going to build. These should be exactly as SpectreCodename for Phantom III 2-S-1's specification for France, except for the following modifications. In certain cases in the re-build of SpectreCodename for Phantom III 3-S-1 we have asked you to use the parts which have already run 20,000 miles, so as to find out whether they will break at a greater mileage.

ENGINE.

(1) Carburetters to LeC.4752, otherwise to E/PSN.2/MN.11.10.35 (air silencer to suit, 7" dia.)
(2) Hall's metal bearings on one unit, white metal in two other units.
(3) One white metal unit to have Marine type rods, the other two strap type.
(4) Valves and fittings as specified for 12 production units.
(5) Cylinder heads to LeC.4711/4735, modified oil draining and larger stem exhaust valves.
(6) Oil retaining cover plates to LeC.4672.
(7) Stops to prevent the contact breaker arms being pulled open and overstraining the return springs.
(8) LeC.4691 dynamo drive spindle having spiral grooves.
(9) Delete Ex.18898 stand pipes in camshaft well.
(10) Pistons fully split, LeC.4617.
(11) LeC.4690 modified crankcase studs to facilitate removal of heavy flywheel and clutch.
(12) Oil relief valves to LOP. E.86853,
