X.6006. 48 COIL HIGH OUTPUT DYNAMO I.O.I.M.
AX CHASSIS 23-EX.

This dynamo is the machine which satisfactorily passed the 10,000 mile test on chassis 23-EX and upon which standardisation of this type of machine in conjunction with the half charge switching scheme, was effected.
Recently, we had this machine back from the chassis in our laboratory for inspection, the total number of miles run since we originally passed the machine for the chassis being 18,674.

The machine has been carefully examined and bench tested, the results of which examination and test are contained in the following notes from my assistant's report PD.56 :-

"The insulation of the machine was found to be quite O.K. Brush wear appeared to be quite normal, the brushes themselves being in very good condition and free in their holders.

The condition of the commutator was good. Brush dust deposit was reasonable in amount.

The machine was put through a heating test and an output curve taken, in which respects it was found to have maintained its original bench performance, in which the peak output was 16 amperes at 30 mph. road speed.

Generally, this dynamo has been entirely satisfactory."
