BONNETS - ALL CHASSIS.

Since your last memo on the above subject we have spent a considerable amount of time in improving our methods of handling Bonnets.

It must be appreciated that owing to the mirror finish of the plates anything metallic which touches them must be the same high degree of finish or a mark will be made on the surface. Again, the plates are handled so many times in the process of manufacture that we cannot guarantee to avoid some marking, as they are rather unwieldy pieces.

In spite of this extra care, scores have occurred, and it has been necessary to resort to emery cloth to remove them.

We have wire brushed one Bonnet inside and this is fitted to Chassis B-137-KU. Also, we have rubbed down with flour emery and paraffin another Bonnet and this is fitted to Chassis G.M.P - 64

Both these finishes add to the cost, and we are loth to incur this expense as we are sure that a definite improvement has been made in the elimination of the large scores about which you originally complained.

We would like your further remarks indue course, after seeing the two special Bonnets.
