BATTERY IGNITION.

x 8590

We send herewith LeC. 2388. shewing an umbrella rotor on our standard chassis battery ignition.

The object of this device is to act as a baffle shielding the L.T. contact mechanism from the gases formed at the H.T. points, and also as a mild form of pump feeding off the gases directly out of the ventilation holes with the stream of air drawn from below through air holes provided in the L.T. mechanism casing.

At the same time this alteration will improve the surface resistance and mechanical strength of the rotor.

There have been a few cases of tracking on this part lending to breakdown of the insulation to the nearest point of one of the inserts.
