HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} N0027 R2/M28.11.31. Sent off 30.11.31. X6132 X6022 INSTRUMENTS FOR THE CARS. (re. VISIT OF HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} AND WST.) AMMETER. The price we pay and the delicacy of the ammeter makes it desirable to have another type. We do not want to use the Lucas which is so common on the cheapest cars, so that we ought to endeavour to get Weston, Elliott, or Ferr-anti, to supply us a permanent magnet, moving iron type, of suitable size and appearance for our cars. We believe that such an instrument is made by the Weston Co. We also hear that they now have a Works in the London suburbs. Clock. There is no doubt that the self winding clock, by electric current, has come to stay. Of those examined one is definitely impressed with the Boyce, which we understand is made at Leicester, being quite good, and we reccomend fitting this type. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
