With a view to ascertaining whether the coarse pitch axle is likely to suffer from failure of the bevel pinion, we arranged some time ago to run two dummy axles more or less continuously on the dynamometer. We have kept records of the mileage done. This now totals 2,500 miles in each instance. 500 miles of this total has been run on the road. We have today dismantled these axles and carefully examined the bevel pinions and they are in very good condition. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
