To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to CJ. " " HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} (struck through) " " EHO. (struck through) x3339 x3933 ORIGINAL. RE 40/50 H.P. CLUTCH MECHANISM. Referring to the Clutch Mechanism shewn on drawing F.6723 for chassis 250 in N. Series and onwards, would you kindly note Mr. Royce says, "Try .250 shorter pedal shaft lever, and re-consider if clutch spring has any unnecessary load, as the clutch is so very heavy to put out on chassis 6 EX". One of the objects of modifying the clutch mechanism as shewn for N. series was to obtain some more normal surface for the ball joint F.3055. It is noted, however, that no alteration has yet been made to improve this piece. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
