40/50 HP. (PHANTOM II). HIGH TENSION WIRING.

F. {Mr Friese} has been on the telephone to me and outlined the following scheme as representing WW's proposal for dealing with the question of the wires being damaged by heat :-

1/- Both No.1 and No.2 cables are to be taken from the extreme end of the wiring tube and the fitting existing there is to be made oval to take the two wires.

2/- No.3 plug would then come out from the present No.2 position.
No.4 cable is satisfactory where it leaves the tube, but they suggest it should be threaded through the bracket which carries the wiring tube. They state that they do not want the wire to pass between the wiring tube and the cylinder block.

This means a design to cover this, but in the meantime we should leave the wiring as it stands and fit a shield. The modification should be instructed experimentally first, and then, if satisfactory, brought in when we next order material.
