1021 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAC.4/ET. 16th November, 1940. Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden Ltd., Eastern Aorks, Camden Street, BIRMINGHAM. Attention J.H. Spicer Esq. Dear Mr. Spicer, Thank you for your letter of the 13th, and note that you are dispatching handle blue prints and bakelite ash-box and that you are hoping to pass on the rest of the bits and pieces in a day or so. I am sending you herewith print of the proposed bonnet moulding, and I would be obliged if you could let me know, as quickly as possible, if you can make a satisfactory die casting to the sizes given. You will notice that we have shown the width as 7/16". If it were possible to produce it narrower as a production job, we should naturally like to do so, but I gathered from what you told me on the telephone that 7/16" would be about the limit. Regarding driving window quick-lifts, I have talked this over with Mr. Robotham, and he would be prepared to accept a quick-lift with a winding handle, providing it is quick and easy to operate. If, therefore, you can produce something like this, it leaves the way open for dispensing with the vertical channels between the sliding window and the ventilating flap. When you obtain the information regarding the bonnet moulding if you could give me a call on the telephone, I should be much obliged. On the sketch the moulding section, we have not arranged any method of fixing. We would welcome suggestions from you regarding this. We think that a tapped boss would be the most satisfactory method. Yours faithfully, | ||
