TELEPHONE 8081 (7 LINES). TELEGRAMS: ROVER,"COVENTRY". SBW:ME. THE ROVER COMPANY LTD. COVENTRY, ENG. October 2nd 1934 W.A. Robotham Esq., Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd, Derby. Dear Robotham, Our wobbling machine was supplied by Heenan & Froude and cost £170 plus installation which is not very much. On investigating the matter I find that the wooden ramps which we have for getting the cars on to the machines are set for our track and would not take yours. They are grouted in concrete and cannot be very easily moved. If the matter is sufficiently important from your point of view, we should be delighted to arrange for you to have a test some time over the weekend, to do which I should fill in the existing ramps with timber and build a temporary one on one side. I think this could be done without a great deal of trouble, but we could not manage it very well during the week as the machine is occupied very fully with our own output. Let me know as soon as possible if you decide to come, say on Sunday morning, and I will have the machine prepared. Tell me also the track and tyre size of the car you bring. Yours sincerely, [Signature] | ||
