To GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} From RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} c.c. to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}2/MJ.26.11.37. 4¼ LITRE BENTLEY PISTONS. Referring to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}5/MJ.24.11.37 further investigations have been carried out regarding the supply of incorrect Pistons and it has been ascertained that some time ago a request was issued by yourself to the Repair Dept. not to supply any further Pistons of the type originally fitted to the engine but to supply the latest type with increased diameter skirts. In view of this request all Kingsbury orders were altered accordingly until instructions were issued by BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} on the 16th. of October last to revert back to the original type of piston fitted and immediately the suppliers were instructed accordingly. It appears from the above therefore that the mistake originated from Kingsbury and when complaint is made of incorrect supplies being received at the Depots real facts of the case must be given and not misleading statements.
