RADIATORS.

We have received a request from Sales in regard to an enquiry for a chassis that it will be necessary to have a larger radiator, as the car must climb 16 miles of a continuous gradient varying between 1 in 12 and 1 in 14, without boiling. The temperature in the shade where this climb would have to be carried out is 120°F.{Mr Friese} What information can you supply me in regard to increased radiator capacity?

It appears to me that information can be obtained, if not available at present, by running a car on the dynamometer on second gear, with possibly the shutters on the bonnet closed, as these conditions would be a fair approximation to what would actually happen in service under the requirement pointed out above, if the chassis were running with the shutters in the bonnet closed.
