X1110 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GRY.{Shadwell Grylls}11/KW. 2nd October, 1935. Messrs. Borg & Beck Ltd., Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. For the attention of Mr. Barker. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 30th Sept. and are sending you an arrangement drawing of the clutch driven member assembly. We had hoped you might have a clutch centre of this size, although you will remember when talking to our Mr. Hardy you had no complete clutch to suit this engine. If it is going to be an expensive job making a few crimped centres for test, perhaps we had better let the matter drop for the time being. The separation of the pressure plate is .090. If the overall thickness of your assembly is more than our figure of .312, we could machine from the pressure plate accordingly. Obviously we would rather not increase the inertia of the clutch centre. Tests on the 10" clutch continue satisfactorily. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
