Urgent need to procure bodies for the new 'SS' experimental chassis.

Smith}' CHASSIS. 47830 X7770 You may have heard by now that there is a big push being made on 'SS{S. Smith}' chassis. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} has promised that 3 experimental chassis will be completed before Christmas and 3 more in January. He has left it to us to make sure that bodies are available and he points out that he considers it at least should be possible to make a body in the same time it takes to produce a chassis, and the same amount of effort should be put into producing the bodies as will be put into the chassis. The first chassis is now to be ready on the 23rd. Nov. We propose going to Barkers on Friday the 9th. to satisfy ourselves as regards the position of the body. We do not want you to think we are taking this job out of your hands, but we shall have a miserable time if the chassis is ready and we have no body to fit it on to. In order to get the bodies in time, it may be necessary to adapt the present std. Phantom bodies for the first test and to fit the subframe bodies as soon as they are available.
