Lee, Esq., You were good enough to pass on to us an enquiry from the above gentleman, who, we gather is well known to you, and we think that you would be interested in an extract from a letter which has been passed on by Rippons and which has been written by Richard E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hughes of Messrs. Essam & Henson:- "I had a talk with Mr. Percy Lee this afternoon, and unfortunately he has turned the Bentley down on the score of its being too fast for him. He was extremely pleased with the running of it, but apparently if he has a car that will go, he makes it go and finds that driving like this is becoming a strain. He has now definitely made up his mind that he wants a late Model 25 h.p. Rolls with a Close-coupled Saloon body, and I think there is little doubt that I could sell him a suitable car straight away, if it can be obtained. The only point he insists on apart from the body is that it must have synchromesh gears. I am very sorry your man should have given the run for nothing, and under the circumstances, I am very pleased indeed that he fixed it up in the first place with you direct and not through me. No doubt you will let me know if you hear of a suitable Rolls." We are therefore endeavouring to find him a suitable Rolls-Royce. Bly{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales} | ||
