BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X5180 E1/M21.9.31. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X. 5000 X. 5150. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. CRANKCASE COVER DYNAMO & WATER PUMP SUSPENSION AND PUMP DRIVE COUPLING. We send you herewith LeC. 2951. dealing with the above. The crankcase cover in question carried both the water pump and dynamo, and it is arranged so that the faces carrying these units are machined from a common boring operation. The amount of mis-alignment to be accommodated therefore within the normal limits imposed by manufacture will not be great, and a single coupling XXXX can be used for transmitting the drive from dynamo to pump. The coupling shewn for this purpose is one in which rubber blocks are used to provide the necessary action when one shaft may be eccentric to the other. The water pump bracket is formed as an integral part of the pump itself. The body of the pump is not shewn but will be dealt with in a scheme to follow. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
