JAPAN 3. WATER PUMP AND DRIVE.

Please find herewith blueprint of Lec. 2885 dealing with the above.

we propose to put a drain plug at the rear of the cyl. block in addition to the drain plug or tap below the water pump. this is very usual now as there are so many engines that pump the water in at the top of the cyl. block.

There is an alternative scheme of water flow which we should like to consider in which the pump delivers at the front of the cyl. block and all the water is made to pass to the rear end of block and then by suitable connections up to the rear end of the head, and thence along the head to the radiator. The more vigorous flow throughthe head with this system seems to be a virtue.
