Instructions for timing a magneto using a marked tooth and a list of its technical specifications.

on either side of this tooth and the middle portion at the top of the tooth itself being blacked.

Timing the magneto by means of this marked tooth will readily give the degree of accuracy which is required. In this connection it should be understood that attention to the magneto contact breaker, set correctly initially, is only necessary infrequently, i.e. at such intervals as the magneto or contact breaker might be removed for other reasons, e.g. trimming the contact points.
