-2- (4) Slight leak into clutch case at high speed. The mouth of the pipe Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2078 did not appear to be in its most efficient position, and should be pulled out nearer to flywheel and made bell-mouthed. We have drilled a 3/16" drain hole in the base of the clutch pit and fitted a slotted inspection plate. Heavier flywheel to be fitted. (5) Auto. Tappets. The tappets are rather noisy and in two cases we have found that the spring ring which retains the plunger valve spring had come adrift. It would be advisable to check them all. Increase the metering screw jet orifices from .025" to .031" dia. (6) Slight overoiling at low speeds from front cylinders on 'A' side. (7) Correct dynamo cover to be fitted. (8) Engine timing gears whine when hot. Unit has run a total of 12 hours, 2 hours at full throttle. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/L.H.Swindall. | ||
