DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/M14.8.30. X7560 P. 2. WING LAMP WIRING. We thank you for BY/CGH{W Clough}/W25730. We agree that with the wing lamp wiring a disconnector on the outside of the frame could be omitted. Sometime in the past it was not there and its introduction was found to be a very great advantage. We cannot therefore agree that it would be an advantage to omit it. In the case of an accident to the wing the wire to the wing lamp is generally severed. Without the adaptor the correct thing to do would be to thread a new wire right the way back to the distribution box, but we know from experience that this would not be done, but instead a new piece would be jointed on in a very rough way. We are surprised to hear that the cost of the Lucas s d adaptor to us is 2/6. If we can buy sparking plugs for 1/3 or some such figures we should have thought the Lucas adaptor ought not to cost much more than 6d.
