-2- (5) Clutch. Besides the pedal fouling the boards, which creates noise in the car, the clutch jaggers badly. There should be a Borg & Beck clutch centre plate available for this car in the next day or so. (6) Brakes. The offside front brake is pulling hard to the right. (7) Steering. Rattles in the controls and the column, and clicking. Too heavy for shunting. Moderately good only for road shocks. (8) Horn Button. This seems to be about the worst sample of horn button tried, as it clicks badly when depressed and it is very easy to push it down without getting the horn to sound. Wants investigating. We do not want to put this car in the shop again until we have had some running on it. We are beginning by getting the air silencer reasonable, then we want to tackle the half crankshaft periods as this engine has the large slipper wheel. We have got to tackle the flywheel period on one of the cars where we can remove part of the inertia. We have a gearbox with a good side-shaft and good change, ready for the car. This is the one that Hancock has been working on. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
