To Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Ht. c. to Ws. c. to De. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ✓ c. to Pr.{Percy H. Rose} [STAMP: ORIGINAL] [STAMP: RECEIVED JUN. 12 1922] X3238 SPRING WASHERS. We send you herewith drawing No. TDC 1594 showing a table of spring washers to revised dimensions approved by Mr. Royce. The idea of making this table is to put forward what we would like to have for standard spring washers which would be the only ones that we should use apart from Thackeray's; these latter are only used for special purposes. It should be clearly understood that Mr. Royce does not wish you to have special washers made to fit the dimensions given on this table but he would like you to obtain washers that are actually being made and select those which are nearest to the dimensions on the table. One of the sample washers we had some time ago from Derby namely, the 1/4 size, fits our specification almost exactly, and we have hopes of equal success with the other sizes. Would you therefore in accordance with Mr.Royce's wishes kindly send the nearest samples you can obtain to the sizes quoted. In dealing with this question of spring washers it was noticed that the list of standard nuts contained the sizes 6BA, and 4BA. Mr.Royce would like you to remove these 2 sizes from the list as we never use them, and never require to use them, because the 7,5,3,2, & 1 BA. give all that is required in the way of graduation. The hexagons at present quoted for the 4BA. should be transferred to the 3BA. also in accordance with Mr.Royce's wishes. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
