40/50 HP. ROAD SPRINGS.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG6.10.24. It is quite correct that a standard-isation sheet was passed for 25% stiffer springs to suit front wheel brakes, as mentioned on the standardisation sheet.

Later, when we were testing the car on English roads with front wheel brakes, we came to the conclusion that the 25% front springs were abnormally harsh, and that was the origin of the somewhat lengthy discussion on springs.

The matter of springs, however, only turned up rather by accident, when we were testing the brakes, and the car was not really sent to us for the purpose of trying the front springs.

I agree that my BJ1/H3.10.24 did not express this quite clearly.
