X. No. RE WATER PIPE CLIPS.

2016. The present type of water pipe clips have been greatly improved by makingthem in steel. Also the diameter have been altered so that there is more draw on the screw.
They could be improved still more if the screw head was made longer so that it was not tucked away inside the clip.
With reference to Mr Elliott's drawing of new flat type clips, if we use the same type as we use on the car, these will certainly come out heavier. Also now that we have done away with the screw connections on the rubber pipe it is very essential that the copper pipes shall be rounded off, so as to give them a lead into the rubber joint. We think the amount shown is insufficient. It is necessary to have this to get the six joints entered together. In fixing these pipes on, it is usual to work the pipe on the joint until it butts against the other portion.
Using the flat clips does nto do away with one disadvantage we have with the present ones, that is the loose piece.
