Dear Sirs,

RE B.5. PRODUCTION SALOONS.

We thank you for your letter of the 19th. inst. ref. CWW/GC. the subject of which was the body mounting bolts.
On all of the Expl. B.5. bodies the diameter of the body mounting bolts both along the level frame and on the wheelarch has been .375ins. On these cars we have used the smallest Floatex, the P.E. Type.
On the B.50. and the larger cars we have use the next size of Floatex, the S.E. Type having a .500ins. diameter bolt. This Floatex is used on Production Wraith III.
As evidence of the above statement we would refer you to the body mounting drawing, F.C.D.1076. where a bolt size of .375ins. is given for the B.5.
Further, when ordering the body bracket drilling jig in our By20/N19.4.39. we quoted FCD.1313. the Provisional Chassis Print, and F.B.4872. a drawing giving the dimensions for the jig, both of which shew the Floatex for the .375 bolt.
Finally the Production Chassis Print calls for such a bolt.
We are sorry that it will not be possible to change the size of the Floatex now.

Yours faithfully,

Chassis Design Office.

a typical P.W. Muddle.
