Dear Mr Grylls, Many thanks for your letter, with regard to the special accelerometer. I am glad this has proved useful. I was under the impression that we had supplied some method of moving the scale up and down so that you could adjust for the zero. If we have not, no doubt you could easily make this alteration in your own workshop. However small adjustments should be made by moving the weight at bottom of instrument and so adjusting the sideways tilt. Do you mean that in a cold room, the zero rises above the range of this <del>instrument</del> adjustment. With regard to the bubbling at the surface of the mercury, this cannot affect the accuracy of the reading in any way. Yours sincerely, | ||
