Requesting permission to take L.H.S.S. chassis schemes and drawings to Springfield to expedite development.

I expect to sail for New York on Sept. 1st on the "Samaria". We have now Mr. Royce's approval for schemes sufficient to put in hand a L.H.S.S. chassis, but there appears to be no authority for Derby to go ahead and produce either the drawings or the parts. May I have your permission to take back with me to Springfield:- 1stly - copies of these schemes for left handing S.S. as approved by Mr. Royce. 2ndly - a sufficient number of S.S. detail drawings and schemes, so as to enable us to continue the development of the L.H.S.S. chassis at Springfield and produce the necessary details. In this way it will be possible to save a lot of valuable time, and when the time comes to make an experimental L.H.S.S. either in Derby or Springfield the work can be put in hand with no delay (Sgd) BTN. | ||
