Vickers House, Broadway, Westminster, LONDON, S.W.1. MTD/163. 20th March, 1941. CONFIDENTIAL. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, D E R B Y. For the attention of S.M. Viale, Esq. Dear Mr. Viale, INSTALLATION OF 40 mm. GUN IN BEAUFIGHTER. With reference to your letter "Ve/AP.7/CB" of the 18th instant, it is regretted that we have not communicated with you earlier but we were only able to arrange our visit to the Bristol Company to discuss the proposed installation, on Friday of last week. It is now clear to confirm that the gun which we have available for installation will be fitted to the starboard compartment. We shall be most interested to hear the results of your blast tube experiments and shall be glad to pass on to you information accruing from a blast tube trial which we hope to carry out in about two weeks time. We take this opportunity of thanking you very much for the most interesting demonstration you so kindly gave us at Derby the week before last, and for your kind hospitality which was very much appreciated. Yours faithfully, For VICKERS-ARMSTRONGS LIMITED, Military Technical Department. A.J. Nannini. | ||
