Mr. Hancock from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

Many thanks for your reports.

We are at a loss to understand the oil con-
sumption with the 'L' shaped rings fitted. We have wired
you today asking which way these were fitted because we
have had cases of them being fitted the wrong way up.
The stepped portion should always be the top of the piston.
If there is any doubt at all, as regards which way they
were fitted, we recommend that you take them down and
examine them.

We have now fitted up a number of cars with
these pistons and have obtained consistently good results.

We wired you also as regards the steering as we
find that the steerings are freer if we use thick oil
instead of thin engine oil.

We are very interested to know how the fabric
coupling goes on. On the joggling test, the fabric
couplings which we have now xx tested, has lasted 4 times
as long as the last couplings which were fitted to the car.
