| X 23/6 Experimental Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}13/KT. November 14th 1933. The Light Production Co. Ltd., 60/66 Rochester Row, Westminster, London, S.W.1. For the attention of Mr.Brooks. Dear Sirs, We received the set of Aerolite pistons on Saturday morning last, and are much indebted to you for getting them through so expeditiously. We have passed you an order for seven more pistons to the same design but in RR.53 alloy, and should be glad to here from you in respect to these. We have a spare set of rings with the wide groove to reduce the amount of oil scraping, and should therefore like the set of pistons in RR.53 alloy to be fitted with rings having grooves intermediate between the wide and narrow groove. The reason for this is because we think we may have gone a little too far with the narrow groove as our oil consumption is tending to become rather heavy. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
