Referring to page 2 of the above report, I have looked into the question of the rivetting of the flange for the oil filling cap, which apparently came loose, and find that this was one of the old type. We have modified the design in order to make the top joint oil proof, previously a slight oil weep had occurred at this point. In doing so we eliminated a taper inside the pipe, which incidentally enables us to make a 100% job of the rivetting. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
