To B.J. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X8770 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG17.12.27. SPORTS PHANTOM. We believe the reason why R.{Sir Henry Royce} agreed to producing Sports cars which had not all the improvements on which he requested, was because we suggested that, if we could get the Sports car agreed to for production, we should then be able to concentrate on EAC.10 chassis which could have all the new parts fitted to it. R.{Sir Henry Royce} looked upon the programme of EAC.10. as one of the utmost urgency and he instructed E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and the staff at WW. to be the first job they should complete.
