SPECIAL EXPERIMENTAL DYNAMO IN CONNECTION WITH 20/25 HALF CHARGE. Re. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}4/GR.{George Ratcliffe}12.5.32. We have not quite finished our tests on this dynamo but we can give you a rough idea as to how its performance is turning out. The dynamo cuts in much earlier than the present 20/25 dynamo but as we rather anticipated the peak output* is slightly down. The present std. machine cuts in at 960 r.p.m. and gives a peak output hot at 14.0 Volts of 11.20 amperes. This machine cuts in at 800 R.P.M. and our tests so far indicate that it will give a peak out-put hot at 14.0 volts of approx 11.0 ampers. We will send you a complete curve of performance shewing the reduction in output and increase in cutting in speed due to the insertion of the std half charge resistance, as soon as possible with our remarks and recommendations.
