Your Ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.13/MA. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of the 19th inst. We regret to note that the receiver which we sent to London for your Managing Director's car is not considered suitable for the job. In the circumstances we shall, of course, be pleased to take the set back. However, we propose to call at your London Showrooms before doing so to see the car, in case we can see some means of fitting the set in a suitable position which has been overlooked by your London Office. If this difficulty cannot be overcome we are pleased to say that we shall soon be able to give you particulars of a new type of receiver which will shortly be added to our range of car sets, which employs an entirely new type of non-mechanical remote control and which will overcome all the difficulties of controlling radio from the back seat of limousines or from the instrument board where there is insufficient room for a direct control receiver. We shall be glad if you will consider these remarks as confidential. for the time being. With regard to the Radio Show, we propose having several instrument boards fitted with car radio receivers displayed on our stand at the Olympia Radio Show and should be glad if we might buy or borrow a Rolls-Royce or Bentley instrument board for this Contd...
