Regulator - Cutout Unit to Scheme DCD.71. The model regulator-cutout unit made to the above scheme has now been tested on the bench. In this scheme the dynamo field fuse has been incorporated in addition to the resistance element fuse, and the resistance element itself, altered from an oval to a wide flat shape. Generally the unit was found to be satisfactory with the exception of the resistance element. This when measured was found to have a resistance value of nearly 17 ohms instead of the specified 15 ohms. The correct value was obtained by removing four complete turns of the winding, thus reducing it from 46 turns of 23 s.w.g. D.C.C. 'glowray wire' to 42 turns.
