For the attention of W.A.Robotham,Esq., Dear Sirs, We beg to thank you for your letter of the 27th inst., and we are very glad to hear that we may proceed experimentally on the lines suggested. We regret that our sketch as submitted did not show details of the position of the vent pipe in relation to the apron. The writer had in mind all the time your own suggestion with regard to this arrangement, and we have arranged to take the vent pipe from the bottom of the external dome, and lead it out sideways under the apron as you describe. We illustrate the approximate arrangement on our sketch enclosed. We have calculated on ½" O.D. pipe, suitable for the union which you sent us, which we believe is the same size O.D. pipe as you are at present using as a vent on the existing model.
