Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Steadman. We thank you for your letter dated May 10th, and give below our observations on your comments regarding thermostat BGA.3357A. (1). The two sample thermostats which we sent to you were hand-made and it is intended to ensure that the three ribs to which you refer are strong enough before production is commenced. Pressings will certainly be stronger than the spinnings which we sent to you, as these latter were annealed several times to enable the required shape to be produced. We will watch this point, and if necessary, will strengthen up the arms. (2). Thermostats, BGA.3357A will be available in production quantities by approximately the 20th May. (3). We are sorry that the by-pass seatings on the valves which we sent to you are not accurate. This is undoubtedly due to the fact that the valve head was hand-made. In production the by-pass seating will be flat. (4). We are concerned to hear that one thermostat opens at 70º, whereas it should open at 75º. | ||
