To Na.{Mr Nadin} from J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} copy to: Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} R; E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} By; Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Mr Hives. 2.2.14 X3066 D FEB 1914 RECEIVED J7/T. 29.I.14. Mr Royce complains that improvements which have been through the Experimental Department and have been approved by him do not get quickly into Standard Manufacture, but thinks that they are lost sight of from the moment that he has approved them and that the interval before one sees them in the chassis which are being delivered to the public is far too long. We have therefore, determined that the Head Draughts-men shall each in their own Department be responsible for seeing that when an improvement has been approved by Mr Royce the subsequent steps, which are necessary to enable that improvement to be included in the standard manufacture, shall be entrusted to them. It shall be their duty to see that the signatures of the officials approving the adoption for standard manufacture shall be obtained with the greatest possible speed. It shall be their duty to worry officials responsible for or-dering material, making patterns, etcetera, and it shall be their duty to arrange that the improvements shall be in-cluded in the first possible series. With a view to securing that improvements shall not be lost sight of and shall not be hung up, the Chief Draughts-men shall in future report monthly to the Engineer in Chief and to the General Managing Director what improvements in X1034 | ||
