EXHAUST SYSTEM
RECEIVED 18/230

We send you herewith drawings Nos. Lec. 1874. 1875. and 1877. dealing with the lower portion of the exhaust system opposite to the engine.

The remainder of the scheme is being handled by Mr. Day, and will consist of a silencer of the dimensions of the present 40/50 rear silencer, but fitted with more baffles to secure the necessary degree of quietness.

There will also be a cutout of the through pipe pattern, having we think a single butterfly valve at the rear end of the silencer, and a deflector pipe to shoot the exhaust gases when the cutout is operating, in a direction in which they are least likely to enter the body of the car.
