RR 238 (150 BKS.) (DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 451-B-12 24) MP 306975 X.8710 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To E.7.b. Order No. WC40 Customer's No. X.8710 19-10-1927 E.J.B's coil (LI) with reduced iron core This coil ran for 9600 miles on the Bench and then failed. It was handed to Mr Brock who has dismantled it to ascertain the nature of the failure which from observations appeared to be a partially short-circuited secondary winding. The tungsten contact points which ran with this coil functioned very well, much better than standard. Oxidation has been almost eliminated on the surfaces and the pip on the lever considerably reduced. The bedding of the contacts however is not so complete as when run with scrubbing action. Signed H.E.W. This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
