Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Y1583. BY4/G.21. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RECEIVED 22 OCT 1930 GEARBOX OIL. ------------ Referring again to the question of having a suitable oil from Wakefields to compare with our Amber 'A' for the gearbox, we would like to know whether this matter has been carried any further by the Experimental Department. I attach hereto copy of a note which I have received from Paris, but we have no information that the grade of oil has been altered, and should consider that to alter the characteristics of the oil and retain the original symbol was a mistake. In the meantime, we have no option but to recommend only Prices' Amber 'A' for gearbox service. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
