P1180 Exptl. Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}16/JH. 5th November, 1936. J.N. Longley Esq., Chief Chemist, Messrs. Ferodo Ltd., Chapel-en-le-Frith. Dear Mr. Longley, Herewith the sample you asked for. Our Laboratory give the Brinell as 263, and the unetched structure is almost identical with that of previous Millenite specimens. We have no photomicro-graphs ready yet, or we would send you some. We are thinking of trying R.R. cast iron, Lepaz and steel liners as alternatives ( the steel being quenched and tempered to have a Brinell of 300-350) Yours very truly, | ||
