78310 To Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} PN {Mr Northey} 4/DN25.11.24. X. 8310 X. 8430 I have pointed out to CJ. that the movement between the steering wheel and front road wheels of our 40/50 HP. should be relatively increased, i.e., gear-ratio lowered, in view of the greater effort entailed on the driver when steering, resulting from the provision of F.W.B's and also with a view to assisting to prevent any tendency to wobble and too much sensitiveness to road shocks. I understand that this suggestion was made by R. {Sir Henry Royce} 12 or 18 months back, but what we wish to know is - whether in fact it is proposed as soon as possible in the production of our larger chassis (EAC.) to make this modification in the steering. Also, what is your own personal feeling in the matter? Do you also recommend this modification? P.N. | ||
