Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} X 3426 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}8/F27.1.20. X.3426. JAW CLUTCH ENGAGING STARTER MOTOR & BUSH. With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AT27.1.20, there appears to be some misunderstanding on this matter, and I trust it has been properly explained to CJ that this is not an improvement, but a fault with the present standard, and that I cannot agree to cars being delivered in their present faulty state. I am anxious, therefore, that what instructions have been issued with regard to this matter should not be withdrawn, as otherwise I am afraid there will be serious delay in output of cars, or they are likely to get into customers' hands in a faulty condition, which I am afraid I cannot condone.
