Copy to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} CRITICISMS ON THE SPRINGING OF THE CABRIOLET BROUGHT TO WW. BY HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ON 3/10/24. X9410 X2628 If there is any complaint about the springing of this cabriolet, (and I understand it was somewhat rough at low speeds) then it is probably due to two things. Firstly, the presence of considerable internal friction in the Woodhead front springs. Secondly, overstiffness and internal friction of the rear springs. We do not think for a moment it is overstiffness of the front springs, and the internal friction in the front springs is good. We should not desire to get rid of this, but the internal friction of the rear springs is not good, because it can-not be got rid of when desired for town use. EF R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
